SOMATIC MOVEMENTInstructor: Frances Nicolais4 hours Course description: Somatic movement
re-educates the neuromuscular system toward greater health and well-being
with hands-on movement techniques that can be practiced at home, with
partners or with clients. Students will be introduced to practical meditation
techniques and visualizations to access the wisdom of the body and mind for
re-patterning. Students
will learn self-unwinding techniques, one body part at a time, which can also
help them with their client’s unwinding process. You will
learn how to allow right brain activity for greater healing capabilities,
starting from common yoga and Pilates positions. There will be a brief introduction to Kundalini Yoga and a
practice of chakra openings. Partners’
yoga will be practiced, allowing student to connect with another human, merging
their own unwinding with their partner’s. This work
can help in facing stress, pain, and illness, and also enhance the
